Nokia X Android Smartphones  Prices in Indian Market:

The Finnish company's first ever Android based smartphone Nokia X is reportedly set to hit Indian stores in March third week.

Online retailer, The Mobile Store listed the Nokia device to be available from 15 March for ₹8,500, but took down the message soon after report went wild on the internet. However, another online shop Saholic has gone a step ahead by taking orders for Nokia X from buyers for ₹8,499 with a promise of delivering the item on 25 March.

Nokia X, despite being an entry level smartphone created huge buzz during the unveiling at the recently concluded MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014, mainly due to the timing of the Nokia's strange tactic to launch an android device when the company is on the verge of acquistion by Microsoft (by March End), who is directly competing with Google for the smartphone market share.

Nokia X sports a 4.0-inch WVGA (800x480p) IPS LCD screen with pixel density of 233 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) OS version titled as Nokia X Software v1.0.

First time Nokia X Phones With ANDROID (OS)

The Nokia X series is the company's first attempt at Android.

Nokia took the world by surprise by making a foray into the Android segment - the largest mobile operating system on the planet.

The company recently launched three Android phones- Nokia X, X+ and XL in its Nokia X Series at the MWC 2014. The devices have been priced at €89, €99 and €109 respectively and are clearly targeted towards consumers looking for an affordable option in emerging markets like India and China.

The devices are reminiscent of the design found on the Asha series of Nokia phones and are seen running on a version of Android that is nothing like you would have seen till now. Nokia has gone for a platform based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), heavily modifying the UI which results in a software that is mostly like the Windows Phone OS cosmetically.

The Nokia X comes with a 4-inch IPS LCD screen and is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The dual-SIM device has 512 MB RAM and a 3 megapixel back camera. The Nokia X+ improves on the RAM front with a 768 MB chip. The rest of the specifications are identical.

The Nokia XL is the slightly more expensive cousin with a 5-inch display and a 5 megapixel rear camera. The device will have 768 MB of RAM and is powered by the same processor as the other two.

Although the phone runs on Android, the services are mostly handled by Microsoft including OneDrive, Outlook and Skype. The devices will be unable to access the traditional Google Play store, which will instead be replaced by the Nokia Store. Nokia claims that a strong 75% of apps on the Play Store require no modifications while the rest of them would need minor changes.

The smartphones will come pre-installed with a few third party apps including BBM, True Caller, Plants vs Zombies 2, Vine, Twitter and Viber.

There is no word on when the devices will be made available for the Indian market. They are currently listed as coming soon on Nokia’s website.

The X phones can be a good alternative for users who are looking to buy cheap Android phones with the trust that comes with Nokia.
